I'm trying to block International and Local Directory Assistant calling. We keep seeing 410-411-0000 being billed to different stations, even though I've blocked 4104110000 and 411 (DENY) in the switch (G3r V.11) I don't know how people are getting out for assistance. Unless they use an 800 number that I've yet to block. Any help would be greatful !!!

Can you run call accounting reports on the people in question on the dates and times indicated by the bill?

As far as I know, no-one knows the TAC nmubering. Say they did, is there a way to tell they used it?
thanks for your reply by the way !

How do you run accounting report's-I've never used one-It sound's like a great idea though !

Check the ARS disgit conversion tables (list ars digit-conversion) to see if there are entries for DA dialing there.

Listed ARS Digit Conversion, Directory Assistant calling or number's like it not there....Good try !

Try blocking access to the LEC operator '0'. They are usually happy to transfer you to directory assistance.

If you are using locations there is a different ars analysis table for each location and the default table, when no location is entered, is not being used. That threw me off for a while. Make sure you are changing the table that is being used.

are you able to dial these dir asst numbers from your phone? if so, do a list trace on it and see what table it is using to route the calls.

randyb19- This is a good point, just today I dialed "0"-reached our attendant on base, and she said she can't forward to directory asst, I wonder what the bill should say if attd transferred call.
rejackson- I'm not sure what you mean. I have 1 switch, 1 location.....
tweege- I cannot dial from my station 411 or 4104110000, this proves my ars ana to deny such call's.....

Then you probably are not using locations but try a "disp locations". If your site is in the list the use the location number to "disp ars ana 4 loc #". That is the ars table you are using.

mach1tec,
Often the TAC shows up on the phone display for incoming calls.
You need a CDR feed to check who is dialling the TAC. I would bar TAC dialling on the trunk form.
Cheers

mach-

the point is, can anyone dial '0' not to get your attendant, but to get to an operator with the local phone company. they will pass to directory service if you ask

langl3y- I know you program set to show TAC or Trunk number. These set's in question don't have them programmed to see it....Also, Dial Access is set to no.

randyb19- No, you cannot dial "0" to get LEC operator, just an attendant-Who by the way said she can't forward the call...I have checked CDR on one number from billing information, and they didn't make a 4104110000 call at all?????

Have you asked your carrier to block International and assistance calls? If they can do it, this would "fix" the problem of someone getting out thru your PBX.

harrisd1200- Blocking from carrier may be an option..I may entertain that one..

letman- Thank's, I just added xxx5551212.

rejackson- liss ars route 411# result is as follows:
411 dialed string, min=3, max=3 route patt=deny, call type locl....

Gents' I did notice on the station invovled that they dialed "0" for attendant....Attd console has dial access to trunk invovled..But I don't know if attendant gives station access to directory asst, if it will bill that particular station who called attd in the first place.
