Alright, so, I know that the readers of the forum have probably helped out millions of people with my problem, but.. I haven't heard it. Here it goes-

Alright, so I connect to AOL using a DSL modem (that they sent me) I was wondering if anyone knew how to bypass the whole AOL process and just get onto the internet? In other words, not have to open up AOL every time and connect through the AOL screen.. not have to see the Welcome screen or here that guy say "Welcome!" or "You've got mail!". I am so sick of it. Just so everyone knows, I am an XP user.

Thanks,

Ben

That's why AOL claims to be #1 provider. They abt. charge the most. And insist on going thru their software. Use Eartlink or similar ISP. they put you direcly thru. If you use less than WIN XP try juno(same company)free service,it puts you direcly to the NET after a few adds. AOL in my oppinion has more usless stuff, plus it has a greater tendency to muckup your OS. ie; sometimes special patches are needed to make things work right, Thats why some software says "AOL friendly".
