Help, I'm working with a Partner ACS 3.0 for the first time.
I'm tryint to add two new CO lines. They already have 6 lines, so these would be lines 7 and 8. Do I just plug them in or do they have to be configured somehow as well.

They want these two lines to appear on two extensions only.

So I use #301 Line assignment to delete lines 1 thru 6 from the extensions(I've got the CO lines plugged into the ports on the system), then still in #301, I assign line 7 and 8 on the extensions. When I test it on the extension, line 1 appears wher I programmed line 7 to be.

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance,
Greg

Are you sure the extension your programming is the extension you are testing. Your programming sounds correct.

Yes, when I go off hook on the extension and hit line one, I dial 958 which is the line id code here in Verizon territory.

Could it have something to do with the (a) line pool?

Greg

Are you really in pool mode? If so, #313-XX-2 makes an extension "key" mode.

#207-NN-1 takes lines out of pools.

#301-XX-NN-2 removes the existing lines from the extension.

#301-XX-NN-1 adds the line to the extension in the first available position, or
#301-XX-NN-3-Button adds the line on the button you specify.

If you're not sure what is on the phone, go to the extension, Feature 00, then touch each button and the display will show you what the button is.
