Hi folks. Hope somebody can help.

I'm trying to install an Adaptec SCSI card, 39320D-R into SCO OpenServer 5.0.4.

The only drivers on the Adaptec site are for 5.0.7, and I don't know if that should work. I've never had to, or tried to, use drivers on previous versions.

The SCO and Caldera sites are inaccessible, and have been so since some time last week, so I can't see if they have drivers, nor can I tell whether the driver is actually already built into 5.0.4.

Any help and advice would be wonerful!

Thanks, everybody!

If your 5.0.4 box is updated with all the supplements and patches, I guess you can try to use the 5.0.7 driver from Adaptec.

Hope This Help
PH.

Oh, sorry... one more thing.

I was able to get tino ftp.sco.com, but there weren't any adaptec drivers there. I expected there would, since sco supports adaptec with supplied drivers...

Thanks!

Hmmm..."all" the patches! Who knows how many there were...

I suppose I could just try it and see, but I'm wondering if there'd be a problem far more subtle than "It doesn't work."...

I wonder how many patches there have been since 5.0.4 was released... :)

Thanks for you help.

Have you tried this URL ?
ftp://ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver5/drivers/OSR507/btld/ad320/

Hi All:

A follow-up to my original post:

I downloaded the 5.0.7 Adaptec ad320 driver from ftp://ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver5/drivers/OSR507/btld/ad320, created a floppy using the instructions at ftp://ftp.sco.com/pub/openserver5/drivers/OSR507/btld/ad320/ad320.readme, and used the driver during install.

the driver seems to work fine. I was able to install the hard drive and tape drive, ran badtrk on the drive, and restored some files from the tape.

It would appear that the 5.0.7 ad320 driver works fine with 5.0.4

Thanks for the help I received in reply to my post.

Melissa
