help with accessing FTP on the net

i setup apache and everything is running fine, my website is up. i am trying to figure out how to access my hard drive through an FTP using internet browser. i created a password file. when i try to log into the FTP and use my name and password it won't let me in what is wrong??

Hi mate,

Apache is an Http server, it has nothing to do with FTP.

You need to install a FTP server to upload files.

ok i installed bulletproof FTP server but for some reason when i try to log in it won't give me access. i setup an account and everything on bulletproof and i did the .htaccess thing described in the apache docs. i've only gotten to log into the ftp server like twice for some reason bulletproof is not kicking the user off when they exit FTP server. any help or name of a better ftp server would help
