I have 2 2600 routers each configured with a basic configuration, and a point to point T1 between each router. For example Site A has a a dsl connection on an existing network. We are adding a branch office and want all traffic from Site B to go to Site A and also use the dsl connection.

Router ip layout all examples
Router A
Serial port 0/0:1 192.168.1.1
Fastethernet port 0/0 10.0.0.1

Router B
Serial port 0/0:1 192.168.1.2
Fastethernet port 0/0 10.0.1.1

Using rip between locations.

The connections work fine, but where the problem comes in I can ping from Site A to Site B with no problems. Pings from Site B to Site A stop at the lan port on the router A.
I have traced it down to being a gateway issue if I configure a pc to use Router A's lan port I can ping with no problems, but the gateway needs to be 10.0.0.254 for example for the firewall between the dsl connection and network. I am sure its a simple fix but any help will be appreciated.

Have you confirmed with a show ip route that the routers have the needed routes in their tables?

I would suggest adding to
Router A
ip route 10.0.1.0 255.255.255.0 serial0/0:1
Router B
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 serial0/0:1

The routes I have in the routers are
Router A
ip route 10.0.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.2

Router B
ip route 10.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1

I tried your suggestion but I came out the same.

I may have left out some information earlier. At Site A we have a snapgear 580 firewall (10.0.0.254) and Router A from Site A I am able to ping anything on the network 10.0.1.0 at Site B. From Site B I an only able to ping 10.0.0.1 which is the ethernet interface on Router A. If I configure a PC to use 10.0.0.1 as the gateway, the ping works from site B to site A. I need to use the gateway 10.0.0.254. I have a route in the snapgear saying any traffic going to 10.0.1.0 go through 10.0.0.1. I hope this might clear things up a bit ..

Thanks

What is the config on routerA ? can you copy and pastye that out ?
Second, in router B :
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 s0/0 should be your route command.

What IP address you have on Ethernet port of router A ?,
