Hello, im giving this a try and playing with it, my idea was to do a query on a database for a given (numeric) record but i feel unconfortable with a limitation i find counterintuitive, yet i think this has to be my lack of knowledge on the voice mail pro platform.
Basically I play a message asking for an ID number, then make a query to the database for that ID and play the returned record via TTS, for this im using the data collection module

my concens are:
[ol 1]
[li][/li]can i set this for numbers only? its a mess in alphanumeric mode, (IE for 157 a user would press keys 10 times : [red][box]1[/red][/box] [red][box]j/k/l/5[/red][/box] [red][box]p/q/r/s7[/red][/box]) i want to just press [red][box]157[/red][/box] (once every key)

[li][/li]can i have the timeout being considered as "enter"? the mode it works now will send the user to the timeout action with no record of keys pressed, ELSE to have those keys the user has to press [red][box]* #[/red][/box]

[li][/li]BTW, whats the thing with intuity mode?
in the docs "alphanumeric collection" its available on intuity mode, yet the vmpro i use is NOT in that mode, what im missing?
what features would i get with intuity mode then?

thanks!

If you're just looking for a number, then just use a menu with either ? as the prompt (with the correct number of them, 1 for each digit), or a $ (just one) for a variable length. Users press # when they are finished. Send to a copy point using a generic action, then look it up in the database.
Alphanumeric collection is for letters AND numbers, and it sucks.

now i only wonder about my third question, intuity mode, anyone had a chance to compare both? (besides the PDF...)

IP Office Mode = useful and efficient.

Intunity = Bloated and annoying (and the yanks love it) :)

some just can't handle the full featured Intuity mode :p and they need to keep it basic

Westi ...you mean only the voice mail, right?

AACon, whats that?

Westi, customers do not want intuity as it floads them with option they do not need :)
Yes sometimes keep it simple.
For us as techs intuity can be usefull when you do need the options only available in intuity mode.
