Help w/AD Migration tool

Hey everyone, quick question. I am trying to replace a badly configured DC. My question is when I build a new DC to replce the old one does it have to have a totally different domain name? Example:

1st. DC's domain name is company. (not a FQDN,bad config.)
2nd. New DC's domain name company.com (FQDN)

When I try to run ADMT the new DC tells me it needs a different domain name to migrate my users&groups. Do I have to rename my domain to get this to work?

Try adding a period to the end of the first domain name when you run ADMT. Marc Creviere
