Hello Folks, this is my first Post on this forum, so, i'm having a problem when installing WIN XP PRO SP2, the system shows the following message:

STOP: 0X000000C5 (0X3F3F3F43, 0X00000002, 0X0000001, 0X8054B534)

I already switched the CD drive, 1.44 drive, ... and did some alteration on Award BIOS, but nothing has worked.

Any idea is relevant!

The machine is: Athlon 1.700+, 384MB, 20GB, with a Mobo PCchips M841LR

Thanks,

José Ricardo.

At what point in the installation process does this occur? Has this machine been used before, or is this a new build? Without knowing any other info, I'd preliminarily say it's a system memory problem. Please post a bit more detail and I'm sure you'll get more help.

ZelaskO,

In addition to the additional detail:

Can you claify for me, is WinXP already installed and you are trying to install SP2?

Or do you have a new WinXP with SP2 and you are trying to perform a clean install?

Hi what the error means is:
Cause
This issue can occur when an attempt to touch invalid memory at a process IRQL that is too high occurs. This is almost always caused by drivers that have corrupted the system pool.

Resolution.
To resolve this issue, run the Driver Verifier tool against any new (or suspect)drivers,and if that does not locate the problem,use gflags to turn on the Special Pool feature. For additional information how to use the Driver Verifier tool, go to the article number 244617 to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
244617 ( using Driver Verifier to Troubleshoot Drivers

For additioal information about how to use the Special Pool feature to isolate pool damage go to 188831 ( to Use the special Pool feature to isolate pool damage.

So Folks,

The machine was using WIN98 before;

The problem occur just before installation begin to check the LAN card and its personal configuration ... i think this is the third step of the process;

The WINXP PRO SP2 was "assembled" for a friend, but i tried to install a "original" WINXP, and i has the same outcome.

The Driver Verifier is to be used when WIN is installed (right?) and i'm trying to performe a clean install.

Ps. the memory i'm using was used in another PC, and was normal working there.

Hi if you have tried all the above then i would put every thing back as it was, format the disk then install windows xp again and reinstall sp2 but make sure it is a clean install as it seems as if the copy your friend has is contaminated, or been cloned.

I found the problem!

After days i found it, simple guys, i disable onboard resources like LAN, MODEM, ... and guess my friends, WINXP go on like angel, everything worked!

PS. when i enable LAN the same problem occur. so, the reason of this problem is MOBO onboard resources. In this case was LAN.

Now Pc is working very good!

Thaks Folks for your support!!!!
