Hello,

I am trying to troubeshoot our fax software that is routed thru our definity.

800 number comes into ext 4200
4200 then is routed to a audiocodes media gateway based on vector
Here is where I am trying to figure out the issue.
I do not see a caller id in the fax program. I am not sure how to tell if it is actually being passed by the phone system.
I have tried to do list trace vdn, vector and ext that are all apart of this number.
When I do list trace station 4200 I get this message: extension is assigned to an object rather than a station.

Could someone point me in the right direction as to how to tell if caller id is being passed?
I can do a list trace station on my phone I am see caller id.

list usage ext 4200 will show you how it is used. Possibly a hunt group.

You can list trace tac like joe said on the incoming PSTN trunk to see if it is sent inward, and you can trace on your way out of the system to the Audiocodes too.

If you're integrating via PRI or analog to the audiocodes it could be as simple as having the sending of CPN or caller ID disabled on the digital trunk/analog station etc.

Guys thanks for the input I was able to do list trace tac 307
I made a test call, I see the caller id listed. It then send to 4200 (VDN) how would I test if the caller is actually being passed? The media gateway is not picking it up. I am trying to rule out the avaya system.

Thank you again for the info.

That trace should show something like "CPNName --- CPNumber"

Can you copy/paste a sample call with a "list tra tac XXX"?

LIST TRACE

08:30:49 Calling party trunk-group 7 member 5 cid 0x17e
08:30:49 Calling Number & Name 4XXXXXXXX NO-CPName

08:30:49 ring vector 130 cid 0x17e

You could see in the Audiocodes Message Log if it gets the CLI, also if you fax are connected to analog ports on the AudioCodes you'll need to make sure that it uses the correct signaling for CLI on the analog ports.

I do note see the caller id in the audiocodes log.
How would I test signaling?
Would there be a simple way to rule out that the caller id is being passed to the analog ports?

How is the AudioCodes connected to the CM?

well thats exactly what I was thinking but I am trying to find a set that would work w/ the avaya system...

there are 7 analog lines into the phone system that bridge out to the the audiocodes.
