Heres the scenario, call comes in on target line 121 (mics 1.0 xc) (now 6.1 xc- line 157); call is answered, put on hold then voice calls or i/c to other party with the same target line appearence and that person is able to press the target line to pickup caller. Problem- when call is answered and put on hold the other ext does not see it. Ive never seen it done this way, and the cust wants to keep everything the same. At this point they feel like I've downgraded the system. Maybe its some additional programming that needs to be done?? Either way I'm in a jam. Any input or comments will be appreciated.

Check your Target Line programming and see if it is set to Private. You should have it set to public, and also verify the line is set to appear and ring on both phones.

all the target lines are set to public. There are five sets that need this set up, like it was before. Some lines appear only and a few A/R. I verified this on the old system.

try giving target line more than 1 occurence in line/trunk programming on the prime set.. then see if you get it to work on secondary one...

you might find that MCDN (feat * 5 2 0 etc) as a hold location on those five phones might solve your problem. you program the same MCDN button on all five phones and then when a call is parked on that button it will illuminate that button on all sets. unfortunately it appears that the button will stay lit thruought the call.

I thought about that, and the cust isnt willing to change a thing. I even put the old system back in service to do some test calls and sure enough, it did exactly what they said it does. The target line stays lit for the entire call and what ever set that line is assigned to and even flashes when put on hold. I checked on the 1.0 and I can only make 1 appearence for that target line, unlike 6.1 with multiple app. I've checked all the programming I know to check and Im out of ideas.

you may be at that point we all hate where you have to tell the customer "it can't do what you want, it can do this instead." I don't see any way to get the software to work backwards to that level to satisfy that customer.

Jerry,
Don't you mean SWCA on your earlier post? I really like that feature, but admit that I have not yet tried SWCA with Target Lines. Guess it is time to experiment.
Pbxman2, I sure hope this isn't a software bug. I have some older sites that are using multiple target appearances like yours and may upgrade soon. I may be facing the same problem.
Did the line conversion from 121 to 157 look good on all sets involved?

Once again, I think Marvo hit it. The new SWCA feature should give you and your client back what you want.
