Everything was fine until recently. Not exactly sure when or why it started but when I play a game, the voices are scratchy while the music sounds fine. I ran the directX diagnostics and it says that my sound card does not support hardware buffering. The last time I ran the diagnostics,(maybe 2 months ago) it played the sound effects and passed. Now it doesn't. It's an SiS 7012,(integrated on an ECS K7S5A motherboard, latest, "greatest" drivers for XP. When playing music or DVD's, everything sounds fine, but not in the games. It is really beginning to drive me nuts. I've done everything but change the card, which I am holding out on as a last resort. If anyone can think of something else to try, please let me know. I apreciate it.

Make sure the drivers you have are for the exact card you are using. You may need to go back a step if the changes happened when you did an upgrade.
