Hi,

We have purchased two Fiber receiver recently with their corresponding cabinets for opt11. I just want to ask the basic tasks we need to do to configure the two cards?

<Cab1><CPU ><-----fiber-------><ntdk23aa><Cab2>

---------fiber-------><ntdk23aa><Cab3>

Thanks in advance.....

Fiber Rcr cards - just plug in and power up - also long as you get green light you are good to go

You have to plug a daughterboard on SSC. NTDK84 if i remember well. Connect fiber on it, then other side on NTDK23.

If only 1 DB, cabinets will have number 1 and 3 or 2 and 4.

In LD 135 or 137 (not sure) you can STAT FIL/ENL FIL x/DIS FIL x

hi reusser,

I did what you have posted, i got the green light, next is how do I address the 2nd and 3rd expansion cabinets? e.g. Loop Shelf Card Unit?

Thanks

I have enabled both expansion cabinets via Fiber Optic REceivers. I also tried connecting Analog line card and I was able to program it in any of the expansion cabinets (slot 11 to 30) but whenever I am installing a DTI/PRI card, the option 11 will detect where I physically installed this (e.g. slot 11 or 23) but whenever I am configuring it in LD 17 DLOP I am gettign this error SCH0582

Help please... thanks

no addressing needed you should have a green light for cab 1 and 2 on the main ssc card.plug and play your cards
Main cab 1-10
cab 1 11-20
cab 2 21-30

It's only dialtone-VZ

I am also getting XMI 102 13 DTI/PRI -> checked from system messages guide, looks like DTI/PRI card cannot be installed in the expansion cabinets.... Can anybody confirm this... thanks.......

It was always the case that Digital Trunks had to go in the main cab. I can't recall if this changed recently with the introduction of the successsion releases, however given that you can move an analogue trunk/xdlc/falc card with overlay 25 easily, I would shift a card to one of your new expansion cabs and install the PRI card in the main.

that'll be the easiest way to do it..... thanks a lot for your help........

just a question, what is the maximum number of DTI/PRI card can I install in one Option11 system (with two cabinets expansion) given that I can only install these cards in the main cab. Thanks

You can only install a PRI card in the main cab, its a 10 slot cabinet so you could install 10 PRI's. Although that would possibly be 300 trunks (unless you have networked sites), which you would be unlikely to utilize only having 2 cabs.

you can install T1s in exspantion cabinets but they must be IP cabinets

No T1s allowed in fiber cabinets
