By default I am in charge of our telecom system, a Partner Plus R3.1 with Psrtner Mail VS R5. 32 & 33 are assigned in VMS Hunt Group 7 and Auto VMS Cover. We have manual phone coverage 24/7/365 so do not use Auto Attendant. 6 incoming lines, 11 extensions with mailboxes, and guest mailboxes 21 to 31 function normally. 32 & 33 can be accessed normally from within the system (Intercom 777) or (Feature 14), but when I try to access them directly using (Intercom 32/33) I am routed to the internal phone syetem attendant as is if I had pressed (Intercom 777). Then while the internal attendant is running if I press (Intercom 32/33) it will go into the desired mailbox. Everyone is in the habit of leaving messages going straight through pressing (Intercom & mailbox#). Can this be done with 32 & 33 also?

you already know that these are the 2 ports that are used for your voicemail. By using them as phantom mailboxes you gain a little extra real estate. everytime you call the port internally Voicemail (hunt group 7) will pick up. if it didnt pickup you wouldnt have a voicemail system. i only use these ports only when necessary.

if you can find a new or used ACS processor you would gain an extra 8 or 9 ports if you are out.

good luck

If you assign Auto VMS Coverage (#310) to 32 and 33 you should reach the individual mailboxes instead of Voice Mail login when calling them directly. VM login is still accessed by dialing 777.

I checked again, VMS Hunt Group (#505), only 32, 33 are assigned; Automatic VMS Cover (#310) all are assigned. When I press Intercom then Ext. #s 10 - 31 I am able to access the desired extension's VM and I can leave a message. However, when I press Intercom then Ext. #s 32 or 33 I am sent to VM Greeting "Welcome to Partner Mail VS, please enter extension and pound sign, otherwise...) if after this begins I press Intercom and Ext. #s 32 or 33 again it will then go into the desired extension's VM like the other Ext. #s 10 - 31 and I can leave a message, which is what is desired. It looks like my only option is to upgrade to ACS.

I apologize for taking so long to get back, I only work on technical issues one day a week.
