guys, I am having troubles setting up the VPS with my panasonic phone system. first the led on the VPS starts flashing after a couple of minutes and I believe this is not a good sign :) I tried to reset it but nothing changed.
second thing is I have a DISA card in my PBX and I believe I should remove it because with the VPS I can have the same functions, can't I?
third thing is when I try to program the voicemail ports (#130) I can not save the selected JACK07 (getting two beeps)..
ok, i am a dummy user but still.. what's wrong?

It's a trick program. 102 is enabled, 103 is DISabled, and 130 is ENabled. If you have Jack 07 enabled, you need to disable it and enable 07 & 08. Did you really think it was easy :)

That gets you to APT. Now you work on the VM next and set it up for APT.

wow! so simple! :) thanks!
VPS stops flashing, I can hear VPS greetings and other instructions now, can even leave messages, etc.
I guess I can remove my DISA card, this is useless now, right?
still have issues - not sure how to change the greetings, check voicemail, change the whole automated procedure.. would appreciate any help but will try to investigate on my own meanwhile..
cheers!

Check out the companion post in this forum about VM to a PBX. Substitute USB for serial and start with the TVA manual. By default, all ports are assigned to service group 1. That is evident when the system answers with the "Welcome to the Panasonic voice procesing system"
There are some utilities you need to view to give admin access to the Message and System manager's box. Also, try reviewing the custom greeting setup. It's drag and drop
and visual. I don't like it better than the old TVS, but it is more flexible.

hi LkEErie,

I got the laptop with com port, serial cable and VPS assistant software. Well.. It can not connect to the VPS. Hyper Terminal as well... I set the switches to position 5 (as says in the manual) but it did not help. I guess I can program some of the functions by dialing to the 107 extension and changing settings there. But what could be the connection problem?

thanks
gsnake..
