I need to setup a VPN for a non-profit org. I would like to remotely access their sever (windows small business edition) Does anyone know of a good "how to" for setting up a VPN?

Do you really need to have a VPN? or you just want to check in from time to time to see how things are running? If its just the occasional checkin i suggest using for remote'ing into the server, i use it extensively and its free! If you want to setup a VPN, this should get you going in the right direction assuming the server is running W2K3

Yes, but is there a way to encrypt the data between my computer and the firewall?

Thanks

Both methods use encryption, Logmein uses HTTPS, and the built in VPN for 2003 uses IPSec(how strong is defined by you in IPSec Policies) so long as you have it enabled, you will notice degraded performance for IPSec on the VPN side if you don't have a separate NIC. An onboard NIC will consume CPU cycles to peform encryption while an offboard NIC should handle its own encryption of data.
