I am trying to set up outcalling with a 4 port Partner Messaging. In is in the 4th carrier slot. I think I have everything set up correctly but cannot get system to outcall. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you're including the 9* at the beginning of the dial string.

Must have lines assigned to the VM ports, and not restricted.

Put Auto-Intercom buttons on a phone for the VM ports, watch to see if it goes off hook after a message is left. Monitor the CO line with a butt set to listen to what it dials, and see if the call goes through or fails at the telco level.

TTT thanks for the reply. The system does not need to dial 9 to make a call. When you say make sure I assign lines to VM and no restrictions I am not sure what you mean. Could you please "dumb it down" for me. I appreciate your help.

The VOICEMAIL system needs to dial 9 to access an outside line. The star is a pause to allow the dialtone to connect before continuing with the dialing. Give that a try first, then post back.

Also, when you go to Outcalling, option 3 gives you a tutorial on setting your outcalling numbers.

TTT,
As I looked furthur into this forum I realize that now. When you talk about assigning lines to the voicemail ports can you be more spcific on that please.

To assign lines to the VM ports, just use #301-(VM port extension number)-(Line Number)-1.

If you originally set a number of lines in #104, they are already assigned.

Thanks alot for the help. The 9* did it
