Hello all Hicom gurus!

I recently bought a used Hicom 150 Office Com / HiPath 3350 1.2 to replace my old Nokia PBX. The seller did not know much about it, he told me that programming should be done through the serial port, but he had no manuals about it. I tried connecting to it with a terminal program with no luck, then I searched the net a bit and found out I needed a program called HiPath 3000 Manager C to program the PBX so I downloaded it. Sure I can configure a lot with the program, but it still feels like I don't have complete access to the system. I haven't found any place to (among others) set up time and date, fine tune timing parameters, and most importantly, set up trunk permissions. I was hoping that someone could give me some hint on where to set these up. Am I missing something? On my old PBX, *all* programming was done from the first phone in the system...

Like your old system you can do programming through the first phone as well.

CHeck this forum as I know thatr I wrote up how to change the date once form the fiorst phone.

As far as the software, it is supposed to allow you access to a few things that are not accessible from that phone. For example Loop Start vs Ground start.

Best of luck.

If you want full access to programming of the system you need Assistant E (or Manager E) - Assistant C sucks.

Like the post above says, you can do programming through the phone attached to the first digital port in the system - that phone should be a "memory" phone - the one with the mini keyboard and big display.

If you have that phone and it is hooked up to the first digital port on the system you can type *95 and then 31994 to access system programming. It will give you a primitive menu you can navigate with - that method sucks though - it is MUCH easier with Assistant E.

I have posted this elsewhere, but you used to be able to buy something called the Hicom 150E Expert kit, which provided you the software, some training materials and documentation and the serial cable to use if you direct-connect your laptop to the system. You might check with Black Box Resale Services to see if that kit is still available or can be had.

Good Luck.
