Donald,

What is your aim of the S/w. To view reports via the crystal infoview client?

are you on a windows domain? is it on a windows platform? win 2003?

It takes a while to find your way around the s/w even just to configure etc if you half know what your doing.

Please call if you get real stuck. 00447734 995 027

1. I am connecting to to a External SQL Database.
2. I want to create some ad hoc reports at free will, also view reports using the infoviewer.
3. I am not sure which one to use web intelligence or the RAS cause they both say they can do the same thing create reports via Internet Expolore.
4. I am on a windows platform, using SQL server 2000 database.
5. Also I have been trying to setup the business View Manger. Not sure what this tool is used for.
I am at a lost here, not to know where to go cause I have been all over the place reading this stuff.....Really do not know where to start.

Just concentrate on getting Infoview first - work on configuring the CMC and CCM - forget Business views for the time being.

Once you have created a report in Crystal - then publish it using the crystal publishing Wizard to your crystal server. Then its ready to be viewed (once you have given yourself permissions in the CMC.

You cant what license do you have? concurrent or named?

1. You should really set up your Infoview to Single Sign On (SSO) - Instructions found in Administrative guide - means you and your users dont have to logon into the infoview client - takes it from it nt logon's - this is what I did first and for me was the most important thing to get done.

David thanks for your help.
1.I have setup the CMC already and the reports are working there.
2. I am not sure what license I have.
3. I am trying to locate the SSO I seen it when I was setting up my profile. That part I will find.
4. Whats next ?
Thanks Donald

I wanted users to be able to get into the Infoview Client without being prompted to logon first. This is single sign-on (SSO). I have it all working. I enabled WindowsNT SSO for the infoview client - There are various SSO's - NT and some other ones. The best thing to do is to use the admin guide which come with CR Server XI - I guess that’s what you have?

The admin guide is here: (replace server name with your server) - then find "single sign-on"

Should be able to find it here:
There are 3 main steps here.

You may have to install a Service pack or hotfix also: (Might want do to that if the above instruction don’t work)

One other tip is that to add NT users to the Crystal Server via the Web admin interface (CMC) - they have to be in the BUsinessObjectsNT group on the server.

Hope this helps. Let me know if u get really stuck.
