Really struggling to get this to work. The phone doesn't download the 96xxupdate file and just hangs there without moving to the next file. I'm off site ,the phone is with me and I'm trying to set it up as VPN. I can't access the VPN settings so not sure if I can change any of the seetings. The phone has been connected locally and has an extension number.

A step by step (idiots guide I Know!!!) would be really helpful.

Cheers

Thanks hairlessupportmonkey, I have tried this. The problem is I don't know exactly where any of that text needs to go in the file itself, and how it should be inserted.

I can see the phone ask for the 96xxupgrade.txt file in my HTTP server but it stops there. The phone then says waiting for LLDP then just keeps going over the same thing. I'm remote from the IPO so I'm wondering if I can actually do this away from site.

But I'm at home and only got a windows 7 machine and I'm using static addressing.

The added commands to the 46xx file, put them in like this:

############################################################
## ##
## COMMON SETTINGS ##
## Applies to all telephones ##
## ##
############################################################
##IF $GROUP SEQ 0 GOTO NO96XXVPN

IF $GROUP SEQ 876 GOTO 96XXVPN

#96XXVPN
GET 96xxvpn.txt

You need to be on site or have a http server where those files can be reached.

When you pay peanuts, you get monkeys!

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

Thanks tlpeter,

I have been trying to use a 'software HTTP server techlogica. I haven't got a server as such.

Have you used anything like that at all. If not then I'm afraid it's going back to base...1000klms away!!!

By the way, IE8 or 9 is still not running Flash and I have done everything that MS and Adobe recommend.......argh!!!

Isn't there any http server on the internet at your company?
When you can't upload the 46xxsettings.txt or any other file then yes you need to your company (when you have a http server or ip500 with flashcard)
