Hi,

I recently signed on to several news groups that produce hundreds of messages in my inbox per day. I have setup rules to orgranize and handle them. The rules to sort the mail to incoming folders work fine. However, I would like to be notified ONLY when mail NOT on these lists arrives. As it is, my "you've got mail" message box pops up like every minute now. This is what I have at the bottom of my rules:

where my name is in the to box
notify me using New Mail
Except if the subject contains '[newbie]'or'RE: [newbie]'

(The "excepts" continue, but that should give you an idea)

All the mail from the newsgroups have headers like that [newbie], and more.

Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong????

You need to edit all your rules to add another action to it, that being "Stop processing all other rules".

This way, you won't get the new mail notification.

Jess :)
