My ARS table is a mess can any one give me a basic clean table as a guide?

Your going to have to look at the route tables and the trunk groups and decide where you want your calls routing too.

Example:

trunk group 5 is for local outgoing only.
add route 5 to use trunk group 5, ( keep in mind FRL and COR.
do a Change ARS ANA XXX where xxx is the area code of the number dialed. and send that call to route 5 for local calls.

Make a different route table for long distance and so on....

I don't have enough room here to actually explain the whole setup. Sorry. I'll help as much as I can.

Yah I have mapped out my whole routing table, but there are things that really confuse me.

For instance...
I have two trunks Number 2 and Number 3. # 2 is a PRI for local calls # 3 is a T1 for long distance. Forget FRL and COR basically as I see it every one has access to every number except what is denyed. Ok with that said...

I have some area codes in my table with 1 and the number going to a route group on trunk3

But then I have some area codes without the 1 going to another route group going to that same trunk 3.

Then I have local prefixes with 7 digita min and max going to a group with trunk 2. I also found i have just a single number say 5 going to a partition group on trunk 2

Then today I found that the number 4 was going to a partition group on trunk 3 so when some one would dial a local call to a number begining with prefix 4 say 471 or 475 it would go out over long distance.

I want to create an ARS table that takes all long distance and routs it to trunk 3, takes all local calls routs it to trunk 2, Create a COR for long distance, and a lower one for Local and 800 numbers, create the lowest COR for 911 and the higest one for international calls.

I want to block any toll numbers that would be charged back to us, like 900 numbers. What about 1010 numbers? Should I block those to prevent people from dialing that and getting some one elses long distance charges to us?

Lets see if we can help you out a little. Some of the things you might want to do. Set up a test route to each of the trunks groups. If you have time of day routing set up this would help. Set up a spare phone at your desk or you can use yours. Give this phone the same settings (COS FLR) that the rest of your phones have. Give this phone a new COR and a new time of day routing that your not using. Point the new time of day (tod)to the test route tables. This will direct only your test calls to the test route tables using your live trunks. Some thing to watch out for, the prefix mark is a nasty thing to get to work. 0-4 this tells the switch to send a 1 or to not send a 1 for long distance and toll free number 888 877 800 866. Its located in the route table. When you get your testing complete you can start moving your traffic over to them. If your shop is closed during the weekend this would be the best time to do it. Make sure you have a paper copy of all your setting before you move anything. Leave the working (old) route tables set up for a couple of weeks just in case you have to go back to them. I know your thinking why all the new route tables, This will help to see if your really sending local calls over LD trunks. As you make changes to your ARS table you can be sure the call is going to the right trunk. TEST TEST TEST GOOD LUCK After its all done and it works pat your self on the back, its a lot of work to clean up someones mess. Look!!! New Buttons
Same amount of time!

Garnerj,

I've got 7 partions on my system so I have to maintain the ars tables on all 7 partitions, what a headache. Basically what we have setup on our system is as such.

DIALED TOTAL RTE CALL ND ANI
STRING Min Max PAT TYPE NUM RQ
---------------------------------------------------
1010XXX1 8 18 DEN SVCL N
1900 11 11 DEN FNPA N
1620 11 11 2 FNPA N
672 7 7 1 HNPA N

All my other area codes follow these guidlines, but you'll have to enter all the area codes in manually and update them for each partition according to the route pattern.

Hope this helps!
Dustin
