I have a XP Pro that was connected to a domain and had its profiles roaming and stored on a server. I removed the computer from the domain and created a couple of local users. When logging in to that computer it is still trying to syncronize the profiles to the old server even though I am logging in with local users and no longer part of the domain. Why is this happening? How do I stop it?

Hi, are you sure that this isn't the offline files synchronization instead of the profile?

Try to disable the offline files and let us know the result.

Hope this helps. Please let know if this resolve your issue

It is trying to connect to the old server when it is syncing and then failing and therefore asking for a user/password.

try to disable the offline files (windows explorer, tools, folder options, offline files)

Hope this helps. Please let me know if this resolve your issue
