Help! Report->Prompt wouldnt refresh report data after prompt value?

Dear all,

Please help, when I filter the data by prompt, the report
data would not refresh the data correctly by report menu->
prompt.But if reopen the report, it would get data correctly, why? how could I fix it?

Check under Report | Query | Access to see if the report is NOT checked to refresh data automatically. If the check box is NOT checked you would have to run Report | Refresh to see the effect of the new prompt data.

ALso make sure your not reporting against a snapshot, if so the data won't refresh (select the camera icon to turn off the snapshot).

Thanks. I have solved the problem by placing the variable
in the main query first and then use prompt filter in the sub-query. But I still not understand the reason. Could you tell me the difference?
If this related to cacasd prompt?
