hello all i was wondering if there is a tool or pluggin i can get and use so i can just select the outside of and image instead of using magic wand so it selects only the outside or draw because it often looks messy?

thanks for your help

ciao

I don't know of any plugin to do selections. Have you tried increasing or decreasing the Tolerance numeric value? If you background has multiple color changes increasing the tolerance might help you select more of the background.

Are you trying to change the background color? use the Color Replacer... it works great.

If you are making a selection, try the freehand selection tool set to "point to point". After youve closed your selection, try Selections -> Modify -> Feather and adjust the feather properties by 1 or 2. I find this is a good way to cut out a selection to make a transparent image or to paste into a new bacground.

Once placed in your new background, inverting your selection and touching it up around the edges with the "retouch" feature. Try the soften or smudge options.
