To John Poole and TeK-Tip forum:

I am having 'slip' error and I changed clock as per Ascom in addition not able to access '9'. I have a physical cable from Nortel Succession PRI card with D-channel to Ascom IP PRI. i installed another cable and still having slips. I can dial from Ascom to a Nortel DN but not able to dial from Nortel DN to Ascom handset. I am sending the present configuration of the Nortel and at the bottom of the WORD file is the sent copy from Ascom. I can only get it to work the present clock set up and I do not understand why I am not able to configure as a TIE.

I viewed bits of information on 'Meridian' thread as help to me configure the Nortel.

I have two problems but they might be related as per the current configuration.

Thanks, in advance!

This is programming so the Nortel knows what kind of route this is, I tried TIE and DID but the only way to receive dial tone and process messaging thru the Ascom gateway is this way, not saying there might be another but this way I am able to complete programming

These trunks match the channels on the Ascom ‘STATE’ when I access or if there is any traffic from the PBX to the Ascom

This just shows the state of the D-channel as ‘up’ or enabled state
DCH 002 : OPER EST ACTV AUTO DES : ASCOM24

This shows or equal the ‘state’ side of the ascom so when I access channel one on the Nortel is shows line state 1 on the ascom side

Your programming needs to match the Ascom system, What is the set up there for the route? You also need to match up the basic circuit parameters too, ie B8S / ESF etc. These can be printed in your Nortel from LD 22 (prt CEQU) Do not know anything on the Ascom so you are on your own there.

On the D channel, since the Nortel is set to 'usr', the Ascom would need to be set as 'network' or 'master'. Sorry, I don't know what Ascom calls it.

I have access to the Ascom IP switch and I have changed the settings from 'MASTER' and changed 'NI' and this setting did not change my 'slip' count. Ascom sent me a setting to match their IP switch that was from their engineering dept. I already had it set and working but still did not clear my 'slip'. Nortel supports "QSIG' but unable to work using that setting. I tried changing from DID to TIE but i do not know how to get by the prompt 'RTN'? I stopped and configured back as DID. I have my COT programmed as DID and they are working with no slips. Ascom has 'swap TR/RV' 'NI mode' 'MASTER SLAVE' and 'QSIM' and that is it for PRI settings.

Thank you in advance for all those contributing.

Slips are layer 1 so concentrate on what is in CEQU and LD 73 SYTI, stat the clock in LD 60 does it look ok, etc.
