I'm trying to setup a multihomed Windows 2000 Box with 2 NICs behind a NAT/Firewall. The first NIC has an internal address 10.1.X.X with default gateway set to blank. The second NIC is for WAN with public IP and gateway address given to me by my ISP. Is this the correct setup? Should I still give the 10.1.X.X a public IP on my firewall? Or is this redundant since the second NIC already has a public IP manually configured.
Thanks in advance.

Mario

Multi-homed in this situation is not the best way to go. You are best to let the firewall do it's job and NAT the private IP. As long as the firewall does it's job, you don't even need the second NIC and you are that much more secure.

Thanks, that worked like magic. I knew I was doing something wrong when it came to the public IPs.
