We have a product. We need to EDI enable the same for X12 standards.
We need an EDI Translator, which can parse any ANSI X12 EDI document & encapsulate data into an XML file. The translator should be able to work both on NT and Sun .
Do you know any resource which can convert the EDI file into an XML file.

Oh, you're loking for Edifecs Spec Builder, is a pretty universally converter. See Maybe SpecBuiledr doesn't work under Sun but its converters does. John Fill

Have you loked at Mercator? This should do the trick. Check it out at Mercator.com

Are you specifically looking for a "product" versus a "service"? Clearbridge offers an in-network translation service that accomodates EDI, XML, and any other text file (flat file) format you would want. You can find them at

We @ Netprise have designed and developed a Total Integration suite which can convert any document type to any document type. Please call me at 610 564 8150 to inquire on how our product can best fit your needs. We are dynamic start up company and our product suite is ejb compliant and runs on any application server that is ejb compliant and runs on both unix and windows operating systems.

We can provide best of breed professional service at very competitive prices in our effort to establish branding for our product..

Most traditional EDI translator products will conver EDI to XML. For example Microsoft Biztalk can recieve EDI and it coverts it to XML. You need to create a schema for each type of transaction which can be done with our product Edifix.

We use the Seeburger Business Integration Suite. It is an Any2Any translator EDI, XML, Flat file, etc. Great user interface and support. We also use it for WebEDI.

Satisfied.

not sure if this is your answer but have you looked at Sybase's ECMAP?

Take a look at site they have a Gentran NT Server and Gentran:Server UNIX Translator which can use datamap definitions from Edifecs Specbuilder Enterprise. I am using it right now but only on the NT version but it works very well with Gentran products. On the Gentran Unix the XML translator is an optional purchase.
