Hi,
I am very new to servers and not had much training at all in using them.
With my current set-up i have a server running 2003 server and about 10 - 15 XP Pro clients.
I have set-up a domain and the computers are all linked to it. Users can log on and use the systems fine.
There are 40 users of the network in total, 38 Standard users and 2 admins.

I have decided that it is time the network moved on and i was looking for some help to point me in the right direction.

I now would like to have roaming profiles and to be able to set policys for the user group to restrict access to areas on the computers.

So when a user logs on they have there roaming profile, but are also restricted to say, the control panel for example as well.

Then if one of the admins log onto the system they can have full access to everything.

Get what i am after? i have tried to put it as clear as i can.

Now all i am after is some advice on where to start and if
there are any manuals around on the Internet that i can follow to assist me in gaining what i need.

Thanks for any help in advance!!!

Chris

In Administrative Tools -> Domain Controler Security Policies you can pretty much do everything you want.

Microsofts web page surely has tons of documentation about it.

Thanks,
So from there i will be able to setup the user policies that will apply when the client system is logged onto?

I tried to look at Microsofts webpage, but i fould it was a bit of a pain to find exacally what i was looking for.

I will try the domain controler security policies today when i get into work.

Thanks again

Chris
