I have have been assigned a project to migrate my company from Groupwise 5.5 to Exchange 2000. I have never done this before, and I have done a lot of research on it.
I have built an Active Directory domain and installed the Exchange servers, which are configured as an active/passive cluster configuration.
In my research, I found out that you cannot migrate directly to a cluster configuration as it is not supported. I also discovered that the address book and calendar will have to be done independently.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone would guide me through this minefield.
The Groupwise mail servers are in another domain and I can establish trusts between the domains.
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

Are you planning to have the two mail systems co-exist during your migration, or are you going to migrate it all at once?

Setting up the Groupwise connector in Exchange will help with your migration. You will have to install a transport agent on one of your groupwise machines to allow x.400 traffic to pass between the two systems.

It's been over a year since I worked on one of these, so things are a bit fuzzy. But, that's what I remember.

I plan on having the 2 mail systems coexist, as I'm not migrating all accounts at once.

I am in the process of doing the same thing if you don't mind could you let me know what you experience. I have allot of users who multiple personal folders on their GroupWise accounts and I need to make sure that they will migrate over.

Thanks

Jim
