I've setup CallPilot 150 with our norstar system but have not enabled it to answer lines yet. All the phones have CallForwardNoAnswer feature turned on to 5 rings to their perspective mailboxes. Now my problem is that when the night Service is turned on and the CallPilot NOT ENABLED to answer lines, the phones that are in the ringing group for nightservice will forward calls to their mailbox automatically. So basically a caller will call in and be directed to a mailbox immediately after the rings set. It is not the AA answering and it is not the CallPilot answering. It is the forward feature on the set. I need the set to be on the ringing group for nightservice. How can I bypass this flaw??? Something with DRT? Can someone explain the usefullness of DRT and what it does. What does callForwardNoAnswer with DRT together??
Thanks in advance,
dk

DRT to prime. Delayed Ring Transfer to the Prime set on the lines is useful when you want a delay during the day before the AA answers (AA port being the prime set on the lines) and then activate the Night service and have the AA pick up immediately. (AA port being the only member in the ringing group) MRoberts

Set does not care how the caller gets there...it's told 5 rings then go to voice mail and thats what it will do.
If you do not want calls going to somebody's vmail then set up a hunt group(system must be 3 digit DN,s), add members but make sure the members are ring only and not appear and ring, ring only will override the fwd no answer.
I hope this is what you are asking?

What I wanted the system to do is this:
With NightService ON:
The calls coming in will ONLY be answered by AA to use CCR (Custom call routing) when the recept changes AA to answer Lines. We do this so because the NightService is also used for the recept to leave her desk and allow others available to pick up calls for her. NightService for us is only to make phones ring in the ring group during the times the recept is not available to answer. We don't want the AA to answer during day at all.

With NightService OFF:
Normal business operations with Reception or someone answering ALL calls if AA is set to NOT answer Lines.

It is quite confusing but that is what we wanted the system to do. Right now when a caller calls with NIGHTSERVICE On of Off the AA will not answer unless we set it to answer Lines which is only done after closing. Any suggestions??
What's difference if DRT is set less or more than CallForwardNoAnswer. I want the phones in the NS ring group to still ring but not forward the calls to mailboxes.
Possible? Isn't there a way to tell the phone that the line is ringing in the system and not only on your phone so don't forward your calls. If this helps the Mailbox # were matched with EXT #.

Thanks to all in advance,
dk

CurlyCord,

You almost have what I want. But could you elaborate what this hunt group will do. The members in this group are to be only the ones presently on nightservice ring group or are they suppose to be all sets??
Thanks,
dk

If this helps, All sets are configured to use line pool with 8 lines configured in the pool. So when the main number is called with NightService ON and AA NOT to answer The set in the Ringing Group will ring and forward the call because of CallForwardNoAnswer after 6 rings. I need the CallForwardNoAnswer because my CCTree will use Transfer to extensions and I want those extensions to ring and only forward to Voicemail after 6 rings. This is because some people work late sometimes and will pickup the phone. With the phone setup like this, if the phone is on RInging Group the phone will forward to VM auto.
Thanks,
dk

Try this:
In hunt groups, show the first group eg. 001 (take note of the 3 digitextension number also,eg X707) and add all the phones you want to ring that will help out answering calls.
Do not worry about assigning outside lines under this part of programming but make sure the member is set at ring only (via intercom key).
Now in service modes set up the first mode(night) to have Voice Mails ext as the ringing group incase reception wants to have AA answer (make sure vmail is on and operator is on) also maybe rename lunch to VMAIL.
Setup the second mode (lunch) and have the extension number of the first hunt group(eg X707) as the ringing set and change name form night to HUNT707.
Now when reception needs help they just press the night key and cycle thru the choices untill they see HUNT and press OK or...if reception wants AA then cycle thru options untill they see VMAIL.
Basically when a hunt group is assigned to ring only at a members set the call forward no answer will notcause a conflict....only if it is set to appear and ring will it then follow the CNA.
Let us know if it works.

The only thing I don't like about the hunt group is that it "cycles" through the sets assigned. Is there a way to make them ring together at the same time?

I currently have all lines on every set as unassigned. Should this be changed? I don't want the sets to ring when someone calls during when the NightService is off. I then want some to ring when NS is on but for those sets not to forward to mailbox because of CallForwardNA. If I use DRT to Call Pilot and no CFNA, will this cause the mailboxes to pickup even when reception tries to transfer a call to an extension that is not picked up or will the callback feature override??

you might think about using services still just set up a different service for the operator to be away from their desk and use night service for "night service" this may be the simplest way to do what you appear to be trying for. JerryReeve

Use BROADCAST setting for hunt groups...this will have all phones in that group ring at the same time.
Using just service modes will cause the outside caller to get any given mailbox since those sets have CNA set to vmail......same would apply to answer DN keys.
Using hunt groups will override the CNA as long as it is set to RING ONLY.
Leave DRT and lines alone and just do as above and then let us know what happends.
cheers!

I think that's it!!! I will give it a test after hours and fill you guys in.
Thanks

CurlyCord,
It works as you said. Anyway to turn DRT off? I have 1 set that I want to ring and never to transfer or answered by AA. Because of DRT the set will ring get answered by AA which I don't want.

Thanks again CurlyCord.
