Hi
I have a problem with a bcm 400 4.0 (patch up to date) with 3 PRI.
The problem we have is we are unable to have the 3 PRI working. (Only 2 works)
The one who don't work is never on the same circuit and/or on the same bus.

Here is our config:
Bus 6: PRI, DMS100, clock: primary external
Bus 5: PRI, DMS100, clock: Internal
Bus 2: PRI, DMS100, clock: secondary external
The bcm have 4 PEC card and is in 3/5 DS30 split.

We tried:
1: remove DTM card from bus 2=> bus 5 and 6 works
2: remove DTM card from bus 5=> bus 2 and 6 works
3: remove DTM card from bus 6=> bus 2 and 5 works
4: switch circuit on DTM card=> the problem stay on the DTM card.

The provider told us that all 3 d-channel are up and sometime the system rejects the call.

Anyone have an idea?
Thanks
gl

No because the problem is never on the same DTM card

These PRI providers always offer only this protocol. Why? other are better?

At the beginning, all the trunks are in blocA.
For test,
I put each PRI in a pool different (BlocA, BlocB and BlocC)
I had created a routing table (91 for blocA, 92 for blocB and 93 for BlocC).
If I dial 91, 92 or 93, I can get the PRI I wants. (execpt the one not working)

The problem is only 2 work in the same time, never the same bloc. If I disconnect a working one (ex blocB), the other one will work (ex blocC). If I reconnect it (blocB), it will not work and blocC will continu working.

At this point, I don't know what to verifie...

Thanks for your help.

Have you verified with Telco that each PRI has its own unique D channel?
It has to be 1 for 1. Each PRI must have its own D channel.

What is the symptom on the BCM side?
For instance, if you have all 3 PRI installed and try to make a call ... do you get "no free lines"?

Any errors in the alarm log?

I hate to leave you hanging on this one but I had to respond to a customer a while back where they had 3 PRIs and their 400 never processed any traffic on 2 of them, ever.I There are configuration limits on the number of B channels you can use outgoing and by default it is set to 23. Problem is, right now I can't remember where it is in the 400. Unfortunately I'm sitting in front of a 450 at the moment and it doesn't look like that option is in here.

Something tells me its in the Telephony Metrics>CBC Limit Metrics under the Admin tab but I'm not sure. In my case, I changed mine from 23 to 69 and the system started processing them all properly ie. Ascending Sequential from the highest number outbound.

I'll check tomorrow on a 400 system. If I'm in front of one, I'll find it in no time.

Sorry.....old age, short memory.

Do it through telephony programming.. It's under System Programming.. And you're right.. I looked on a 4.0 system and couldn't find it..

Hi all, thanks for your respond.

SupportDube; the provider confirm me that we have 3 d-channel and all three are up. At the bcm side, no alarm, and if the 2 PRI are full (46 lines busy) for outgoing call, the systeme give me: <congestion system>, for incoming call, we get a fast busy.

Telcodog; I will verified this today, but what I see at this moment in this section, it's only for information.

Like I said earlier, I'm not sure that's the right section to look at. I will respond as soon as I get in front of a 400.

Hi all
My problem is resolve, with the answer of telcodog, I found in Configuration/Telephony/Dialing Plan/Line Pools and select my PRI bloc, in Call by Call Limits we can enter maximun outgoing and incoming call. So I put 69.

Thanks all for your help
telcodog, I give you a star!

Now you know why I had a hard tme remembering where it was.
hahaha. Took me a while to figure it out the first time too.

Glad you got your issue resolved though.
