Good Morning,

I need to find a Win98 boot disk or any dos boot disk to make copies of a dos program. Does anyone know where i can download something like this. That I can make a boot disk from.
I'm running XP so as you know there is no true DOS command prompt to make copies(or at least mine doesn't work right?)

Thanks,

In windows xp do to "My Computer". Right click on your floppy drive and goto "Format". When the format utility comes up you should see a check box that says something like "Dos boot disk". Click that and winXP will create a boot disk for you. There are a couple of problems, first your cd-rom drives won't be detected (It is not created as part of the boot disk like in win98) and if you are on NTFS filesystem then you won't be able to see your hard drives.

Good Luck,
Brad

I don't think that's exactly what i want to do.I have a diagnostics program that is DOS. I need to make copies of the master disk. They told me to get a WIN 98 boot disk to get to DOS to make the copies. But i don't have any dos boot disks. So i need to find or download something that will boot my comp. into the DOS command prompt.

Thanks BChumie for the input but i'm not sure if i want to take that course of action.(YET that is.)

go to My Computer, right click the a:\ drive with the master in the drive and choose copy disk. When it needs the blank diskette it will prompt you for it. I don't know why you would have to do it in dos, because this feature does the same thing. Jason Wichman
