Start up and mouse works. Restart right away mouse works.
Use computer for about 40 minutes and click restart, mouse will not work. I have to wait for about 30 minutes, and than start up, and the mouse will work for as long as I keep the computer running without restarting. If I try to restart I have to wait about 30 minutes again before I can get the mouse to work. Can sombody Help?
PS2 mouse, P4 Intel 2.0, 512 memory, Asus P4533 Motherboard.

Are you able to try a different mouse to see if yours is faulty?

Is your machine overheating?

Have you tried removing mouse via Device Manager, rebooting, and let Windows rediscover it?

I had a similar problem - except that that mouse I was using would only work on every other reboot - no matter what I tried, and it didn't matter if it was a warm or a cold reboot, like clockwork every other reboot the mouse wouldn't work. I switched it out for a mouse from another computer and haven't had any trouble with either mouse since.
