# config ethernet 3/5 auto-negotiate disable
# config ethernet 3/5 sffd enable
Error: port 3/5, this hardware does not support SFFD enabling/disabling

In Network Design Guidelines I read that it is feature is supported on this board. Can anyone help me?

Because one of switches not shutdown port when auto negotiation is disabled and one of two fibers damaged.

We also had that problem, and we needed to upgrade

Need hardware upgrade?
What version of board support SFFD?

software upgrade. We moved it that time to the 3.7.10.

Now you need to make a decision. 3.5 and 3.7 entered the MD cycle.
So you need to go to the 4.0 or 4.1 stream. I prefer the latter since the former is based on 3.5 and the latter on 3.7

Never do an upgrade from 3.7 towards 4.0

The 3.5 code branch has been end-of-life for a while so I'd recommend against it. Recent releases from the 3.7 and 4.0 code branches have had a number of maintenance releases and are quite stable. As Alainv mentioned 4.0 is actually based on 3.5 (with modifications to support the new R-series modules). Version 4.1 is a combination of 4.0 code and features added to 3.7 after the 4.0 branch was split from the 3.5 branch. :)

Personally I haven't been in a hurry to deploy version 4.1 because of the large number of features that have been added and the limited number of maintenance releases (so far at least.) I'd start by looking at the feature list and see if there is anything in the 3.7 or 4.1 releases that you actually need.

Thanks.
We will test the 3.7 code branch. I post result here after it is.
