I was given this cobol program to convert to vb. And i'm going dizzy! Is there any cross ref utilities that i can use to get a print out of the variables used in this program?

Most cobol compiler have option to generate many sorts of listings.
Take a look at the manual.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Yeah, but that printout will not normally give you the variables that are used, just the ones that are referenced within the Data Division.
Not what was asked on my opinion. May be wrong though.

the program is about 2000 lines.

i don't have a cobol compiler.

i'm converting this program, not making any modifications to it.

IBM has a code analyser that you can try for a while.

search for it, download it and run it over that program. It may help you.

I don't have the link now, and maytake a while to get it.
