Help LInking Access to Outlook!!!!

Hey all is it possible to link Access to Outlook so I can make a scheduling table for appointments. Then in a form be able to click a button and have access send the appointment to My outlook calendar? I am sure you can the only problem is that I have a main accounts in a form and have subforms within that form. I want to make this appointment scheduling form as a subform in the main form so the correct contact info is always kept together. The button to send to outlook would then be on the main form but be taking information from fields in that subform. I hope this was not to confusing.

Hey MadeToHeal,

I may need your help some day.

Have you tried using File/Get External Data/Link Tables. The Open dialog can be changed to Outlook through the file type combo at the bottom. I have not done this any more than verify that it is available in my Access 2000.

But it didn't work for the calendar side of it. It will work for contact and emails but not to schedule appointments.

Sorry about the limitations. Are you comfortable working with the Outlook object model? Because this is where you have to go to pull the information.

Hey Stix!

I actually don't know anything about the Outlook Object Model...I am just kinda the developer and administrator of my company's database on the side. My degree is in Finance, and work in Sales...the database is a tool I use so I developed it last summer to meet my needs, it worked so well for me that my company wanted all of our sales reps to use it. Now I am just trying to make it a little better. I have built the entire database from online reading and forums such as this. I really don't have a clue what a lot of the computer jargon means but if you could point me in a good direction or reference a website explaining it. Thank you sooooo much.

Dude,

The best thing you could do is hire a programmer. The time you can save and put toward your expertise should more than return on the investment.
