I have two W2000 machines connected via fibre (SC/SC multimode) with each machine using SL PCI Card 100BFX. I have specified the same IP address and subnet mask on each machine and they both belong to the same workgroup. But the machines cannot see one another. I have installed all the correct driver and all hardware is running correctly. If anyone could help me resolve this I would appreciated it.

The first thing is to make sure you have the transmit on one going to the receive on the other. Try flipping the fibers at one of the machines.

Thanks Jeff, I will try that. Thanks

I am assuming that when you say that you have the "same IP address and subnet mask on both machines" you mean you really have different IP address on the same subnet on each machine?
