Hi:

I just upgraded Internet Explorer 5.5 to 6.0.
Outlook Express upgraded automatically also, however, all of my folders and subfolders in my Inbox, Sent Items etc. are not in the new Express 6.0 version. They are still sitting there in C:\My Documents\Mail, but I don't know how to get them into the new Express version.
I tried Import Messages but there is no option to import messages from Express 5.5 or even 5.0. I picked the 4.0 version just for fun but it said the application was already in use and would not continue.
I really need these folders as a reference for my business so if anyone out there can help?... failing that I'd like to know if I can get Explorer/Outlook Express 5.5 installed over 6.0?
Many thanks for advice...
Alice

Click on the little down arrow where it says Outlook Express, then click on the "push-pin". That should restore your folders. "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing....." [morning]

Go to Tools>Options, click the Maintenance tab, then the Store Folder button and browse to the location of the .dbx files.

Outlook Express 5 or higher uses the .dbx file format. Outlook Expreews 4.0 uses the .mbx file format and they cannot be interchanged.

If you can't retrieve them this way, download this free utility to extract the emails:
