Our organization has Avaya IP Office 2.1 and I am trying to configure a specific user to be able to make international calls. By default our system prohibits internation call, but this specific individual should be able to. Can anyone help? Thanks.

David

In the suser form select short codes & ad the following

00N, number . feature dial

or [9]00N number 00N feature Dial

assuming 00 is international access code

if you are using LCR you may have to use DialEmergency instead.

Great! That is it. Thank you very much.

IPGuru just FYI, in North America it's 011+country code, etc. to indicate an international call. You use 00+country code etc.? I thought your locals all started with 0?

Peter

Not quite local calls all start 2-8, 0 is used as a nactional call prefix 00 is used as international call

basicaly 0 wakes up the exchange to check std codes & then 2nd 0 wakes up international calls

Well I'm in the US and I used the 00N and it works for our individual. IPGuru... one last question and thanks again for all of your help. Would we be able to limit his international calls to a specific country? In our example we want this sales rep to be able to call Mexico, but that is the only country he should be making international calls to. Just curious. Thanks.

David

that's interesting... Canada and US are both supposed to operate exactly the same under NANPA, and it's definately 011 here. Have to look into that next week - thanks for the heads up ku97.

ku97,

To block all int. calls except Mexico for Sales group, make a Restriction.
Add two short codes in restriction tab:
1. SC: 00N
TN: .
Feature: Busy
2. SC: 00(mexico code)N
TN: .
Feature: Dial

Add this restriction to each member in Sales group.
Hope this helps..

Great tip. Does anyone know the country code for Mexico?
