I am trying to install CCM 4.1(2) on a generic PC. I am following the routine that you guys suggested.

Installed Windows 2000 Server
Installed IE6 Service Pack
HWCHECK.REG
OSCHECK.REG
Installing win-OS-Upgrade-K9.2000-2-7

It completes phase 1 of 3, reboots the server and then does nothing, does not install the 3 other phases. It tried relaucing the win-OS-Upgrade-K9.2000-2-7.exe file, it starts it again, does 1 phase of 3, reboots the server, and never continues.

I am installing as "Administrator" on a fresh install.

Any help is appreciated.

Okay, I installed the rest of the phases following the instructions from Cisco's site by launching the upgrade using /Postboot, etc...

Now I am having another issue.

I launch CCMSetup.exe from CCM CD1, it warns me about the domain, etc.. etc...

Then I get these two windows:
ccm1.jpg

I click OK, and get this error:
ccm2.jpg

And then it does nothing. I have tried restarting the server and running it again, still the same issue.

Here is the last part of the log file:
Code:

I had the exact same issue and stepped back and installed 4.02 then win-OS-Upgrade-K9.2000-2-7sr8.exe. Then I installed 4.1.2 with no problems. I think if I had done win-OS-Upgrade-K9.2000-2-7sr8.exe 1st, I may have been able to go straight to 4.1.2.
I think I read somewhere that 4.1 looks for files in win-OS-Upgrade-K9.2000-2-7sr2.exe or greater???!!!!
I have tried to go to 4.1.3 2 times and failed both times. But I used a Cisco Win2k disk from Unity and that may have been my problem.

I launch CCMSetup.exe from CCM CD1, it warns me about the domain, etc.. etc..."

You didn't say if your PC(s) is/are in a domain specifically, but it's never wise to install/upgrade CCM while servers are in a domain, period, no matter if it's a production box or a demo/test box.

This file: C:\utils\shutdown.exe - is the file shutdown.exe in the C:\utils folder? Looks like that's the file it's missing.

I tried to install ccm 4.1.3 on a HP desktop twice with instruction in this thread and fialed. Any one can help me out?
the problem is that after I run upgrade disc from cisco, the pc didn't continue phase 2 upgrading. Nothing happened after reboot

Rx3
Can you post more detail on "launching the upgrade using /Postboot, etc..."
I had same issue like you.

Thanks

I just re-read what I mentioned above. CCM 4.1.3 requires win-OS-Upgrade-K9.2000-2-7sr2.exe or greater. But I have been unsuccessful in upgrading CCM 4.1.2 to CCM 4.1.3 on a generic PC. I don't have CCM 4.1.3 disks to try a straight install.

Answer RX3's question, do following change, then you can go ahead to install CCM 4.1.3.

after the installation of this package, i have to copy the application "shutdown.exe" from the directory c:\programm files\cisco\updates\2000.2.7sr2 to the directory c:\uitls and the installation starts after the reboot with the applications c:\utils\shutdown.exe

thanks for help

Here is the pitch, hopefully help you out with 4.1.3 installation

1. Install Windows 2000 Server
2. Install SNMP Management services
3. Apply service pack 3 for windows 2000 server
4.Install Ethernet driver to connect PC to internet, then Install IE 6sp1.
5.Merge HWCHECK.reg into the registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco Systems\Model]
"Hardware"="MCS7835"
"Memory"="1024"
"Speed"="733"
6.Merge OSCHECK.reg into the registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Spirian\System Info\OS Image]
"Version"="2000.2.5"
7. Run OS Update
a.win-OS-Upgrade-K9.2000-2-7a from cisco)
8. Reboot
9. install win-OS-Upgrade-K9.2000-2-7sr8.exe.
If you see error about:
iuRunCommand: szCmd_ = "C:\utils\shutdown.exe" /L /R /Y /T:0
copy the application "shutdown.exe" from the directory c:\programm files\cisco\updates\2000.2.7sr2 to the directory c:\uitls and the installation starts after the reboot with the applications c:\utils\shutdown.exe
10. auto reboot and Install CCM 4.1.3

Hi,

Can anyone tell me where on Cisco's website is the win-os-upgrade patches? I can't find them anywhere.

Thanks...

Hello,
I'm having a big problem getting CallManager going. I followed the steps above 2 times over and get the same error each time. Everything seems like it's going ok, then after I put the second CCM disk in, it fails trying to install the Cisco Directory Service. The error it gives is Remote Procedure Call failed. Here's the log entry:

I've spent hours on Google searching for a solution, but all I found was atleast one other person with this same problem. If anyone has an idea, I'd greatly appreciate it and if you need additional information, let me know. Thanks

Couple of details I forgot to mention:
OS: Windows 2000 AS w/SP4
CCM: 4.1

tsapp,

make sure you have downloaded msjavx86.exe and then do a windows update after the install of msjavx86. That should clear the DCD error.

Tsap,

Here is the method I used. I have been able to install but I can't pull up the admin page. I am trying to figure that out. The DCD error is either related to java not being installed or an older version of IIS. I had the same problem but can't remember which one solved it. I did a 4.0 install.
1. Fresh install of WIN2000k, Microsoft CD
2. Windows update for latest patches
3. Download Service Pack 4
4. Windows update for latest patches
5. Download IE6 SP1
6. Install MS SQL from Microsoft CD
7. Windows update again.
8. Google msjavx86.exe and download
9. Do the registry hack.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco Systems\Model]
“Hardware”=”MCS7835”
“Memory”=”1024”
“Speed”=”733”

10. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Spirian\System Info\OS Image]
“Version”=”2000.2.5”
11. Download from CCO 2000.2.6 and 2000.2.6sr8.
12. Run 2000.2.6, let that run.
13. Run 2000.2.6 again and let it run. It will ask if you want to
install even though the files are already there, click yes to all.
14. Run 2000.2.6sr8
15. Run Call Manager disk. You might get an error. Check
the logs for an IIS error. If so, search the logs for the specific
error and google that. Download IIS8.xx for the install app.
16. ReRun CCM if needed.

Let me know if this works for you.

Thanks a lot,
All I had to do to get mine going was install JVM, and CCM is working great! Now I just need to figure out how to register with a SIP provider. Would a Cisco 2621 or VG200 be capable of doing that and then I could just point the callmanager to that? Anybody have any experience basically connecting a SIP provider to your callmanager and if so what hardware did you use? Thanks a lot.

Tsapp,

Did you have an error opening the web brower to get to the Admin page? I have everything loaded but still get the error that the page cannot be opened. Did you have this error? I can't get past it and have updated the host and lmhost file.

Any ideas????????????????????????????????????????????

No, I didn't have any problem getting to the Admin page. What error is it throwing? Did you check the security permissions on that directory? Did you install IIS separately from CCM?

Teren

After I load CCM and that completes, reboot, then start> Programs> CCM 4.0.
Then the login pop up screen shows up, I put Administrator and the password and then it shows the HTTP 500 internal error page. I turned off friendly HTTP error messages and then it shows Server Application Error.

I have given full permissions to everyone listed.

I installed SQL seperately under the process I posted above.

After I try to login, I go to event viewer, System, I get a W3SVC error and the description is The server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/Root/CCMAdmin', the Error was "server execution failed'

Any suggestions?
