I'm completely new to AIX and unix so any help is appreciated! We recently had a system halt due to a couple of drive failures. On reboot of the server I made a tape of the dump file. How can I read/view this file!?

Many Thanks!!!

Good luck. Most of the time I just send it off to IBM. If the dump file is still on disk, you can use the "crash" command.

# man crash

After you print out the 20 pages from the man page, and read them, you'll probably just open up an APAR and send the tape off.

Hello,

does any one know a tool to see all processor activity
on a S80 or H80. I´m using topas and several other commands.
No command will display all processor activity.

Please let me know

Greetings,

Johan

You can use [tt]sar[/tt]. It have many options, but can show activity per processor.

You can use some [tt]ps[/tt] options to look at the BND (bind processor) column too.
I hope it works...
Unix was made by and for smart people.
