Hello.

I've lost my WinHelp 4.0 file sources. The HelpWorhShop can decompile the help file (I have distributed the help file, so I can have it), but in plain text only.

Is there a way to recover the original RTF files?

Thank in advance

Hello, All.

I'll answer myself to this question. Sorry to say this, but I've posted three threads already, and I get no answer. At none of them. At least for me, Tek-Tips is not very useful. :(

Maybe somebody will find useful this:

Winhelp 4.0 files can be completely decompiled using a freeware tool named HELPDECO21. It can be found on any Simtel ftp site.

That's all.

Grigore, keep in mind that many posters, including myself, often monitor the forums only during the work week (Mon-Fri).

Hi Grigore,

I'm sure most everyone here would be glad to share their knowledge with you. However, I feel it's very safe to say that no one here has all the answers(or if they did, they wouldnt be giving it away free :)).

I looked at the questions you have posted and some are in regards to some pretty specific topics that many people havent had the privledge of experiencing, yet.

I get no answer. At none of them.

According to this thread, that's not entirely true. ;-)

Patience Grigor,

Most of us understand the frustration that can occur when you hit the programming "wall".

Of all the VFP forums and user groups that I frequent, this one seems to be more tolerant of ignorance while still offering a high level of competence to draw from.

No forum is perfect, so hang in there.

Thank you all.

Blame me. I deserve.

I've just had a bad day. I'm very sorry.

Also, Grigore, most posters here usually won't try to answer a question unless they're fairly confident in their answer; if you happen to ask a question that we've not encountered, we're probably likely to just wait and see if someone else knows the answer before attempting a guess, and because of this it may take a couple of days.
