My company is in the market for a phone system for our new building. We are looking at the IP office from Avaya or the Inter-tel 5000 series. We will mainly be using 1 site and not using VOIP. The features of both system are very close and I think we'd be happy with either system. Pricing is almost identical on both systems. We currently have an old (10 years) inter-tel system and haven't had many problems with it. I'd appreciate any input on either system and any help that would sway me in either direction.

Hi, did you make a move? I'd be interested in what you were able to determine.

ip office would be my choice, i must admit some time it has been a bumpy ride.

The system is now stable i sell and i use at work and home.

I have a customer that is running an Inter-tel. They also have an IP Office at the main site. They are not using VOIP at this time. (But will be)

They are very happy with the IP Office.

Thanks so much for your replies. How do you have the inter-tel and ip office connected, or do you? Were you able to connect them with funcionality? Were you able to make the inter-tel extensions off of the ipo? I'm just beginning, very early stages of looking at this. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

We are using Cisco Router with FXS/FXO on both sides.

The Cisco has dial-peer for the call routing.

The Avaya we have trunk and port modules.
