1) Where is the SQL? Do you make the array in VB or is the SQL Built into Crystal??
If the array is built in VB you can just do a check so see if the array is empty, and if so, dont open CR.
If you are using CR with the SQL..
I am not sure, but I think it will have to be an open then somehow set it to close again, because it has to open to query the data...
If the recordsets are small and depending on performance, you can always call the recordset in a temp array in vb and verify count there first before proceeding to CR..
