Hi All,

We need to setup Avaya IP Office 500 v2 to connect to VOIPGO (SIP) provider through firewall in the configuration descrybed bellow.
We have the following configuration of the network:
Firewall <---192.168.x.1---> gateway <---192.168.y.1 = Internal Network.>
Avaya IP Office with LAN 1 is connected to Internal Network (IP: 192.168.y.21). The VM Pro is also in the same Internal Network (IP: 192.168.y.22).

Avaya is also connected with LAN 2 to 192.168.x.1 network having the IP: 192.168.x.50

How to configure the SIP to work through LAN2?

I already succeeded to make calls but, LAN 2 was connected directly to internet - no firewall in front of IP Office.

Now the issue is in the configuration on LAN 2 in Avaya Manager and on Firewall.

What could you suggest for a faster setup?

Thanks

The issue is on our side - NAT configuration on Avaya IP Office and firewall. Nothing to do with the partner... As I told - everything works fine without firewall. Anyway, thanks, I appreciate any help.

If the SIP provider uses SBC's then it's easier you should just need an IP route in the IPO as long as the firewall isn't blocking 5060. If they aren't and they provide you with a STUN server you need to set LAN2 up to use that STUN server and the trunks to use LAN2 network topology. If they don't provide a STUN server there are some public servers you can use Google will help with that :)

Thank You, I'll try to make it working

Contact you SIP provider, ask them what RTP port range they use. Open those ports and port 5060. Also they needs to send a call to you public IP and not you registration IP because you'll probably send your internal IP of the LAN2 to the provider.

PS. don't turn the FW ON in the IPO.

It is rarely required to open up the RTP ports Bas, in fact I would recommend against it, just 5060 (sometimes even this isn't needed to be opened) the rest is dynamic and usually sorts itself out :)

I know....but this might be one of them..:)
Of all SIP installs i've done (over 200 or so) seen this 15 times or so.

I finally make it working. What is very funny, is the fact that SIP started to work with Networking topology set to None :).

Now there is still a small issue:
If I call through that line and the other party hangs up without answering, the PBX doesn't detect that an keep calling. Finaly it shows the line Busy.

Do you know how to make it working properly?

Thanks

Working with None in topology means they are using SBC's, what does monitor show against the other issue ?

try to reboot your router.

leave 5060 open - nat timeouts will stop inbound calls, since the trunk isnt registering.
