Main Office: Site A
Branch Office: Site B

What I need: Use network drive at Site A

What would be best option be that is easy to set up so i can use a network drive of site A from Site B.

Site B has a USROBOTICS Wireless router.
Site A has a linksys WRT54G Wireless router.

Before finding this site and reading a LONG thread on the problems with the Netgear FVS318 Prosafe vpn firewall, i bought this from buy.com,

I don't have TONS of time to put into gettings these connected. What would my least expensive option be considering i don't have tons of time at the moment.

Thank you so much for the help, I just wish i had asked this before i bought the netgear vpn.

I forgot to ask. Can you get a VPN switch instead of a router so i can add it to site A's wireless router (i have a 5 port switched added to it already) I could just replace this if possible.

1. We need to know the USROBOTICS Wireless router model #.

2. It is better to use the same router to setup IPSec.

3. You can a wrless router to A connect ot the router or switch. However, if you add the wireless router in teh A, that will be different subnet. To make the remote site to access the wireless network, you need to modify the routing table.

4. If you have Windows servers on both sites, you can setup Windows site to site VPN.

How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on

msworld, thank you for the quick responce, the model number for the usrobotic router is USR8054

Let me give you some more detail.
At Office A I There are 3 computers running XP HOME, one wireless. and one linux box running Gentoo (for OTRS support system) and to store files (samba).

Office B has 5 computers running XP HOME 2 are wireless.

My knowledge is small beyond fowarding ports on routers. I'm a fast learner, just right now I have little time.

Sense we don't have windows server at either office, I was thinking buying hardware was my best option. I thought when i bought the Netgear VPN FVS318 it was a switch and I could just set it up at SITE A.
RIght now I only need one computer From Site B to connect up to site A (to connect a shipping system).

How are the 2 sites connecting, ADSL? Leased line? ISDN?

If ADSL have a look at the Draytek Vigor 2800 routers
In the UK these cost about £150. You can have upto 32 site to site vpn tunnels with these, under the support section of their website there is a how to on setting up such a VPN tunnel between 2 sites.

Site A is a wireless point to point 8 megs down 1 meg up.
Site B is about a 4 meg down and 1-2 meg up. community network (fiberoptics)but limited once you go out to the internet.

Update: I've learned some what (talking to tech support) at SITE A the Lynksys Router is now connect to the Netgear FVS318 VPN So they all works correct. (had to change the ip on the linksys and then connect it to the netgear, but instead of the internet port on the linksys, i used port 4)

So now I'm wondering if i can do the same thing with the usrobots. I'm guess I can

Here is my Idea and question. Has anyone set the Netgear (get one for each location)FVS318 using the Gateway to gateway. How well does that work ? should i be able to do it with out to many problems ?
