We had a potential outside service vender dial into our 61C to gather the needed information for a quote. Now I need to change the password however, I want to make sure that I change it the correct way. I know on NEC I had to change the password for the various levels of loging in. Can someone walk me through this please, I want to lock this back down pretty quick. Thank You Again

What release? The method is different in older releases than it is in the newer ones.

You must know the 2nd level password to perform this.

Go to LD 17
REQ: CHG
TYPE: PWD
PWD2: (enter your 2nd level password)
LNAME OPTION: hit return
NPW1: (enter new 1st level password if desired)
LOGIN NAME: (enter new login name if login names are used and if desired)
NPW2: (enter new 2nd level password if desired)
LOGIN NAME: (enter new login name if login names are used and if desired)
LAPW: (hit return all the way out)

Question;

When I login to the terminal or use "system terminal" in OTM I use something similar to this:

User ID: Abcdefg1
Password: 1234

So using the post above would I enter the following?

Go to LD 17
REQ: CHG
TYPE: PWD
PWD2: 1234
LNAME OPTION: hit return
NPW1: hit return
LOGIN NAME: hit return
NPW2: 4321 my new pass
LOGIN NAME: Abcdefg1 (Same as before)
LAPW: (hit return all the way out)

You can just hit return at LOGIN NAME if you don't want to change it.

Thank You telebub I'm going to take care of this right now. Have a good weekend!

Made the change to NWP1 thanks to all your help however, tried to make change in OTM and noticed it doesn't work now because it's trying to log in using the old password.

Tried in OTM Navigator changing "Security/Change Password" but that appears to be just the password for Navigator itself. Where in OTM do I need to change the password it uses when connecting to make changes?

Thank You
