help! cannot get game to install, could be ISS error....

I just bought Need for Speed: Most Wanted but cannot get it to install. Everytime it reaches a certain point (around 18%) I get an error as indicated by the screenshot below. At first I thought it was my CD drive so I copied all four game CDs to my hard drive and installed from there. Same error. I think it could be my Install Shield Script. This also happened with another game recently (Trackmania Sunrise), yet World of Warcraft installed flawlessly. This has happened in the past and my only recourse to fix it was a complete re-install of XP. I'd rather not do this so any suggestions would be appreicated! My system stats are as follows:

XP Pro sp2
2.4 gig P4 Northwood CPU
1 gig ram
ATI Radeon x850 Pro
SATA Plextor PX-716SA DVD-DL combo burner
two SATA hard drives

Sounds like a problem with the media, as indicated in the error message. AND when you copied the cd's to your hd, you also copied the problem. Can you take the game back to where you bought it and exchange it? Can you try installing the game on a different pc and see if it works on a different computer?

I thought it was the media too but I had almost the exact same error with two other games, Matrix On-line and Trackmania Sunrise. The latter installed fine before but recently started giving errors ("cannot read from source disc") which leads me to believe it is something on my system, probably the Install Shield Script....

I found my receipt and am going to exchange the game for another one....we'll see what happens!
