you sure you dont need a scsi cd rom to connect to the card to load the software? I know from the 202i that the flash cards is for the dsp's

hope this helps

The 200I used a flash card with the ROM DOS on that.... very primitive by todays standards.

Best question is can you confirm that it is actually a 200I?

If it is a 201I have the ROM DOS on board, the attached screen should show that on boot. You get options in part allowing you to set up ethernet and map out to an external PC.

I seem to remember that the flash card was not supplied with the 200s, but was part of the maintenance kit held by vendors.

Hi All, Thanks for the reply!!!! I wish it was a 201i!!! but it is not.

Yes DFK it is a 200i (ntrh14aa) All of our customers use the 201i or better. We are a Authorized Dealer but we would never have had a need for it in the past.

You really don't need the PCMCIA card to re-image this drive. Just load the 1st image cd in the drive and when it boots to the alternative device to boot selection. just hit enter and follow the directions. When done, reboot and then re-install the configuration parameters and the keycodes. Be sure to install your latest backup.
That's it. No need for the PCMCIA card on z 201i.

Need help?

Hi Doc, thanks for the reply. it is a 200i not a 201i.... the pcmcia formats the hard drive creates the d and c sections and loads the DOS files

You can find the files for the compact flash on the espl site under multimedia/callpilot/ver 1.07. The files are only that they will not make the compact flash bootable, according to nortel instructions. I'm guessing that if you can make a bootable dos flash card and copy the files to it you would have your 200I flash card.

Wane47, thanks so much for the info... it was/is lifesaver...john
